Bennett's Curse Leaves Dundalk Mall After 10 Years

Bennett's Curse, a Halloween attraction operating in Maryland for 26 years, is leaving Eastpoint Mall in Dundalk after a decade. The departure forces the family-owned business to search for a new venue to maintain its operations.

Jill Bennett, co-owner of the attraction, stated that the move is their fifth relocation in the business's history. She noted that transporting the setup is a logistical challenge because the haunted house spans over 20,000 square feet. The search requires a space with ample parking and a landlord willing to support a small business.

Bennett described the process as difficult, citing the specific struggles of running a small enterprise. She said, "It really is a struggle to do a small business in this day and age." She is looking for a partner who understands the passion behind the event and the joy it brings to the community.

The family has not yet secured a new location. As a result, several popular seasonal events are on hold while the search continues. Bennett expressed optimism that the transition could transform the attraction and bring new elements to the Maryland area.

Bennett's Curse remains open to the public from Friday through Sunday until Nov. 7. The owners intend to keep the tradition alive despite the uncertainty surrounding their next physical location.
